Traditional Residency Pathway
Traditional Residents gain support from PEBC coaches as they work side-by-side with a mentor teacher in the classroom.
- No prior teaching experience necessary
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree
- Available statewide
- Work alongside a mentor teacher in the classroom
- Consistent feedback through field coaching
- One year to program completion
- Eligible for scholarship which includes cash payout
- Option to pursue master’s degree
- Earn teacher license
- Access to 5 years of professional development from PEBC
Teacher of Record Pathway
Teachers of Record are supported by PEBC mentors and coaches as they serve as the sole teacher in the classroom.

- Must have significant experience working with students in an educational setting
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree
- Available statewide
- Serve as the sole teacher in the classroom with support from a mentor teacher in the building
- Consistent feedback through field coaching
- 12-18 months to program completion with option to start in August or January
- Hired and paid by school district
- Option to pursue master’s degree
- Earn teacher license
- Access to 5 years of professional development from PEBC
Special Education Pathway
Program participants spend Year 1 working side-by-side with a mentor teacher and Year 2 as a Teacher of Record in a Special Education classroom.
- No prior teaching experience necessary
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree
- Available statewide
- Work alongside a mentor teacher in the classroom Year 1,
fully salaried Teacher of Record Year 2 - Consistent feedback through field coaching
- Two years to program completion
- Eligible for scholarship which includes cash payout
- Option to pursue master’s degree
- Earn teacher license and SPED endorsement
- Access to 5 years of professional development from PEBC
Pre-Bachelor’s Pathway
Program participants complete their Bachelor’s degree through AdvanceEDU’s highly flexible and affordable programming and then move directly into the PEBC Teacher Residency to obtain their teaching license.
- No prior teaching experience necessary
- High school diploma required
- Available statewide
- Complete Highly affordable and flexible BA at your own pace
- Begin PEBC Teacher Residency when BA degree conferred
- (2+ years) Number of program years dependent on pace of BA program and prior credits
- Eligible for scholarship which includes cash payout
- Earn teacher license in any content area
- Access to 5 years of professional development from PEBC
New American Pathway
Program participants spend Year 1 developing their English language, classroom and technology skills and then start the PEBC Teacher Residency in Year 2 to obtain their teaching license.
- Bachelor’s degree (from any country) required
