Teaching Literacy in Times of Reflection, Resistance and Resilience
The Literacy Consultants Coalition, in partnership with PEBC, is hosting its third conference on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Teaching Literacy in Times of Reflection, Resistance, and Resilience is designed to help educators meet the challenges of addressing the perpetual struggle for educational equity and answer the clarion call for anti-biased, anti-racist (ABAR) teaching. Join us in community as we hone our skills and work to dismantle the systems of white supremacy in ourselves, schools, classrooms, and communities.
This event features an impressive lineup of nationally known speakers. You will not want to miss the keynote by Dr. Sonja Cherry-Paul, the adapter of the #1 New York Times Best Seller, Stamped (For Kids). She is an educator, author, and the co-founder of the Institute for Racial Equity in Literacy. Other featured speakers include: Lorena Germán, Liz Kleinrock, Cornelius Minor with Nawal Qarooni Casiano, and Dr. Gholdy Muhammad. In addition, there will be many notable speakers who will share their experiences with teaching during a pandemic and a time of great social unrest.
